The Enneagram has given me a deeper understanding of myself and how others experience me. Discovering my type and my instinct, was like turning on a light of self-awareness. I could see where my unconscious patterns and reactions were steering me through situations. For example, my default to action and taking control of situations was affecting my ability to relax and enjoy experiences. It was also depriving others of the ability to take ownership or action, whether it was my kids, friends or a work colleague. Once I identified these patterns and outcomes, I could start to change.
